SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 24, 2019 (BSS) – Jatiya Sangsad today unanimously
adopted obituary reference on the devastating fire incident that killed 67
people and injured hundred others at the chemical warehouse-prone
Chawkbazar area in old Dhaka on February 20 (Wednesday night).
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury moved the obituary reference in the
House with the beginning of its proceeding this afternoon three days after
the incident at Churihatta of Chawkbazar.
While moving the obit reference, the Speaker said, “The House expresses its
deep shock and sorrow at the causalities in the devastating fire incident
at old Dhaka.”
She added: “The House conveyed deep sympathy to the members of the bereaved
family and prayed for the lasting peace of the departed soul and early
recovery of the injured.”
