PANCHAGARH, Feb 21, 2019 (BSS) – Amar Ekushey and International Mother
Language Day is being observed in the district in befitting manner paying
rich tribute to the martyrs.
Leaders of different political parties, socio cultural and professional
organizations and people from all walks of life gathered at the central
Shaheed Minar to pay homage to the Language Movement heroes and placed
wreaths one after another.
To mark the day, the district administration has chalked out day-long
programme including discussion meeting, milad mahfil, poetry recitation, arts
competition for the children and cultural function in the district.
Deputy commissioner of Panchagarh Sabina Yasmin opened the day programme by
placing wreaths at central Shaheed Minar at zero hours. Police super Gias
Uddin Ahamed and others high officials also placing wreaths at the Shaheed
Minar.
