India, Bhutan foreign services delegation calls on Speaker

DHAKA, Feb 20, 2019 (BSS) – A delegation of 10 newly-employed officials of India and Bhutan Foreign Services today paid a courtesy call on the Jatiya Sangsad Speaker, Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury.

“Bangladesh shares a friendly bilateral relation with both India and Bhutan… India and Bhutan were among the top countries to give Bangladesh recognition, after gaining independence under the leadership of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu,’ an official press release quoted her saying that while having a conversation with the delegation at her office today.

Shirin said that the visit of the delegation will add new dimensions to the parliamentary activities and diplomatic relations between the countries. She hoped that the friendship with the countries with the passage of time will grow stronger.

The delegation congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury for the absolute victory for the third time in the 11th National Election.

The acting Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka, Adarsh Swaika and senior officials of the Parliament were also present, during the visit.
