Nurturing rich Bengali culture stressed to entertain people

RANGPUR, Feb 19, 2019 (BSS) – Cultural personalities at a post-rally discussion today stressed on nurturing rich Bengali culture to entertain the common people side by side with informing the next generations about true national history.

They made the observations at the discussion arranged by District Shilpokola Academy (DSA) at its auditorium today afternoon in observance of the 45th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Shilpokola Academy (BSA).

The DSA chalked out elaborate programmes including colourful decoration and illumination of its building on Public Library premises, colourful rally, cake cutting, discussion and colourful cultural function in the evening.

Earlier, the sociocultural activists, literary personalities, artists of the DSA and other cultural organisations, youths, students, teachers, professionals, civil society members and elite of the city took part in the rally.

Deputy Commissioner and President of District Shilpokola Academy Enamul Habib attended the discussion as the chief guest with District Cultural Affairs Officer Nujhat Tabassum Rimu in the chair.

Former General Secretary of District Shilpokola Academy and Office Secretary of district Awami League Tauhidur Rahman Tutul addressed the discussion as special guest.

Noted cultural and drama personalities Khondker Abdul Mazid Hiru, Monwar Hossain, Anwarul Islam Raju, Tomal Kanti Lahiri, Ahsan Ahmed, Mizanur Rahman Khan, among others, addressed the function.

The speakers underscored the utter essence of nurturing of the healthy Bengali cultural activities and heritage for building a peaceful, secular and prosperous Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The chief guest called upon everyone as well as cultural organisations and institutions for smooth nurturing of rich Bengali culture and heritage to enrich civilised status of the Bangalee nation and build a peaceful society.

Later, artists of different age groups of District Shilpokola Academy rendered colourful programmes like dance, songs and poem recitation in the cultural evening entertaining hundreds of people.
