PM returns home tomorrow morning

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates , Feb 19, 2019 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina returns home tomorrow morning concluding her three-day official visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attend the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX-2019).

A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the prime minister and her entourage members will depart Abu Dhabi International Airport at 12:15 am Abu Dhabi time on Wednesday (Bangladesh time 2:15 am).

The flight is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 7 am (BST) tomorrow.

During the visit to the UAE, Sheikh Hasina joined the opening session of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX-2019) at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) on February 17.

The premier met Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al-Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and held bilateral talks with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai on February 18.

Sheikh Hasina had an audience with Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi, wife of late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder and the Inaugural President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, at Al Bahar Palace the same day.

Chairman and Managing Director of Lulu Group Yusuff Ali and Founder and Chairman of NMC Group Dr B R Shetty paid courtesy calls on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her hotel suite here this morning.

The prime minister joined a community event at St Regis Abu Dhabi Hotel here this evening.

Sheikh Hasina arrived here on February 17 wrapping up the first leg of her tour to Germany to join the two-day Munich Security Conference that ended on Saturday.

On the sidelines of the 55th edition of the conference, the prime minister addressed a roundtable on ‘Health in Crises – WHO Cares’ and took part in a panel discussion on “Climate Change as a security threat”.

International Criminal Court (ICC) Chief Prosecutor Dr. Fatu Bensouda and Executive Director of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons Nobel laureate Batrice Fihn separately called on Sheikh Hasina here.

The prime minister joined a community reception organized by Bangladesh Mission in Germany at Hotel Sheraton.
