DHAKA, Feb 19, 2019 (BSS) – Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed today said they would guard the Shaheed Minars across the country for ensuring smooth and peaceful observance of the Shaheed Dibos or International Mother Language Day on February 21.
“There are no apprehensions regarding security centering February 21 as enough preparation have already been taken to erase the anxiety,” he said while replying to a query after paying a security inspection at Central Shaheed Minar in the city.
RAB personnel have been entrusted with giving security at the Shaheed Minars across the country, he said, adding that they will discharge their duties with topmost sincerity for peaceful observance of the Shaheed Dibos.
Appropriate security measures have already been taken in and around of the Central Shaheed Minar and Dhaka University with deployment of necessary numbers of RAB personnel alongside increasing intelligence vigilance across the areas, he also said.
Asked about militant attack at Kashmir, he said, “The militant attack in Kashmir is a different matter as it has experienced such attacks since 1947. Militants are being arrested in Bangladesh almost every day and we don’t stay away our eyes from the militants. We are always keeping update information regarding militants.”
