India-Bangladesh ties pass Golden Chapter: Ali

DHAKA, Feb 18, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali said today that Dhaka’s ties with New Delhi have reached a multi-dimensional and comprehensive platform benefitting the peoples of the two closest neighbours.

He said the two countries will now have to proceed to establish a win-win equation to benefit not only the two neighbours but the entire region, according to a message received here.

The envoy was speaking on “India-Bangladesh relations” at Kautilya Fellowship Programme organized by India Foundation.

Young diplomats and academics from 32 countries are taking part in the programme.

The envoy quoted Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as saying that Bangladesh-India relations have become a “role model” for “Neighborhood Diplomacy”.

Modi’s remarks came when Bangladesh’s new Foreign Minister DR. AK Abdul Momen called on him during his first visit to India early this month.

Syed Muazzem said “We should showcase this model of relations to the world, in the form of research and study at the University level, in the form of thesis and PhD.

He further said India-Bangladesh relation has gone beyond the strategic partnership level and now encompasses all aspects of the bilateral cooperation.
