UK team meets DU VC

DHAKA, Feb 18 (BSS) – A three-member delegation led by Professor Dr. Georgia Kremmyda, Project Coordinator of School of Engineering of the University of Warwick, the UK called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman at the latter’s office today.

Members of the delegation were Prof. JT Mottram and Dr.Volkan Degirmenci of the same university.

Professors of the Department of Chemistry of DU Dr. Mohammad Shoeb, Dr. Aftab Ali Shaikh and Dr. Tapas Debnath were present on this occasion.

During the meeting, they discussed various issues including the possibilities of undertaking joint collaborative academic and research programs between the University of Dhaka and the University of Warwick, the UK.

Possibilities of exchange of teachers and students between the two universities were also discussed in the meeting.

The UK delegation is now on a visit to Bangladesh for attending the two-day long workshop on ‘Practice-dialogue in Bangladesh’ under the project of ENHANCE (Enabling Humanitarian Attributes for Nurturing Community-based Engineering).

This workshop has been concluded today at CARS Conference Room of Dhaka University.
