Country’s annual textile demand is nearly 2400 mm : Minister
SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 18, 2019 (BSS) – Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastigir Gazi today said country’s annual textile demand is nearly 2400 million meters (mm).
The minister said this while responding to a starred question placed by treasury bench lawmaker M Mamunur Rashid Kiron of Noakhali-3 in the House with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.
Of the total textile demand, he said from 1700 to 2000 million meters textile now is being produced in the country while the rest 400-700 million meters textile comes from abroad, according to the data available from Bangladesh Textile Mills Association(BTMA).
