Govt takes Tk 300cr project for protecting historic places in Suhrawardy Uddyan : Engr Mosharraf

SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 17, 2019 (BSS) – Treasury bench lawmaker and former
Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossen today said the
government has taken a project worth of Taka 300 crore for protecting the
historic places in the historic Suhrawardy Uddyan in the capital.

“As per the instruction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we have taken a
master plan to protect the historic places in the Suhrawardy Uddyan,” said the
former minister while replying to notice placed by the treasury bench lawmaker
Shajahan Khan under the rules of procedure-71 in the House with Deputy Speaker
M Fazley Rabbi Mia in the chair.

The former minister said along with the present shishu park, saying that a
statue of Bangabandhu recalling his historic address nf March 7 in 1971 will
also set up in the Uddyan.

In addition to this, the other historic event which has been created centering
the historic uddyan will also be restored under the plan, the former minister
added.
