Feni Journalists’ Forum gets new president, Secretary
DHAKA, Feb 17, 2019 (BSS) – Kazi Gulam Alauddin (Tanvir Aladin) of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and Fayezullah Bhuiyan of the Daily Naya Diganta have been elected president and general secretary respectively of Feni Journalists’ Forum-Dhaka.
Members of the journalists’ forum took part in the biennial general election held at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) today.
Editor of The Daily Observer Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury attended the general meeting of the forum as the chief guest.
Former President of Jatiya Press Club Kamal Uddin Shabuj, former President of Dhaka Union of Journalists Kazi Rafiq, BFUJ Secretary General M. Abdullah were present as special guest with former President of Feni Journalists’ Forum-Dhaka Shohel Haider Chowdhury in the chair.
The other elected office-bearers are– Vice-President Amanur Rahman (Naya Diganta) and Zillur Rahman Azad (Kalbela), Joint-General Secretary Mohammad Jafor Iqbal (Shongram), Treasurer Ahsan Jewel (Shomoy TV), Organising Secretary Hossain Tarek (NTV), Office and Publicity Secretary Abdullah Al Mahmud (Mim Mahmud), Cultural Secretary Shahidul Alam Imran (Mohona TV) and executive members Shohel Haider Chowdhury (Destiny), Selim Jahid (Prothom Alo), Emamuddin Hannan (Jugantor), Aditto Arafat (DBC), Elias Mahmud (Janakantha) and Shajeda Sweety (ATN News).
Former President of the JPC Kamal Uddin Shabuj conducted the election as the chief election commissioner while senior journalists Kazi Rafiq and Motahar Hossain Masum were election commissioners.
