No one involved in drugs dealing to be spared: Monnujan
DHAKA, Feb 17, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Labour and Employment Begum Monnujan Sufian said here today that persons involved in drugs dealing won’t be exempted as a legislation has been passed with a provision for death penalty for the offenders.
“The government has taken zero-tolerance drug policy. And for that, a law stating death penalty for drug dealers has been passed…There is no mercy against drug dealers,” she said while addressing as the chief guest of a conference of Khulna Zilla Development Coordination Committee at Khulna.
She said that every person should perform one’s duties from his or her respective position sincerely to help Bangladesh transform into a developed country within 2041. He urged the officials present at the conference to organize and participate in monthly development coordinating meetings to harmonize the work progress.
Presided over by the Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Helal Hossain , Chief Executive officer of Khulna District Council, Civil Surgeon of Khulna and other senior officials were present, among others, at the meeting.
