Gas supply resumes in western part of Dhaka

DHAKA, Feb 16, 2019 (BSS) – The gas supply to the western part of capital
Dhaka resumed this morning after over 24 hours of disruption due to emergency
maintenance of Ashulia gas station run under the state-owned Gas Transmission
Company Limited (GTCL).

“After repairing the leakage in gas grid line in Ashulia, gas supply has
been restored in the morning in Dhaka city” said Engineer Kamaruzzaman Khan,
director, operation of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Limited.

Talking to BSS, he said gas supply in western zone of Titas including
Mirpur, Mohammadpur, Dhanmondi, Jigatala, Sukrabad, Shankar, Kalabagan,
Shyamoli, Kallyanpur, Gabtoli, Savar and Ashulia areas resumed this morning.

On Friday night, Gas Transmission Company Ltd (GTCL) received a complaint
about a gas leak and upon receiving information, a GTCL maintenance team
started working at the site from 8am on Saturday.
