CJ for coordinated efforts from bar, bench against anomalies

DHAKA, Feb 15, 2019 (BSS) – Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Mahmud Hossain today
called for coordinated efforts from bar and bench against all the anomalies
and to safeguard the dignity of the legal profession.

The chief justice also urged the lawyers to conduct at least two cases
without fee to ensure justice for the justice seekers alongside continuing
providing legal aid by National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO).

Chief Justice Hossain came up with the observations while addressing
Brihottor Mymensingh Utsob-2019 at Supreme Court Bar Auditorium.

“The judiciary will flourish by the coordinated efforts of lawyers and
judges. Lawyers can play important role in making the way of getting justice
smoother and building society,” he said.

Presided over by Brihottor Mymensingh Ainjibi Kalyan Samity president
AKM Fazlul Haque Khan Farid, the meeting was also attended by Justice Md.
Nuruzzaman, Justice Obaidul Hassan, Justice Krishna Debnath, Justice K. M.
Kamrul Kader, Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam and Justice Md. Jahangir Hossain,
among others.
