3-day ‘Digital Innovation Fair’ ends in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Feb 16, 2018 (BSS)- The three-day “Digital Innovation Fair- 2018” ended on Rajshahi Collage playground in the city on Thursday evening with a call to make people aware about e-services to engage them in the digital activities.

In collaboration with ICT Ministry and Access to Information (A2I) project of Prime Minister’s Office, District Administration organised the fair.

Latest ICT products, multi-media classroom, mobile banking and e-learning items were put on display in around 70 stalls.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Rajshahi Helal Mahmud Sharif and Principal of Rajshahi College Prof Habibur Rahman addressed the closing session as the chief and special guests respectively with Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Nasima Khatun in the chair.

During his welcome speech, Md Salahuddin, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), narrated the goals and objectives of the government’s A2I Programme, digital innovation fair and tremendous successes already achieved through digitisation in every sector throughout the country including Rajshahi district.

The chief guest said the fair is a step towards providing extensive citizen services to the citizen. Through this fair, citizens from district levels availed the scope of getting aware of the e-services at their doorsteps.

Besides, they get experience some important and regular services in-venue to understand the mechanics and advantages of these electronically transformed services.

Such services have reduced time of transaction and made the process fairly simple and transparent with most efficiency towards public satisfaction.

As a whole, the digitisation process had already created scope of employment and income generation in various ways including outsourcing, selling products through e-shop and offering different services at the Union Information Service Centres (UISCs), he added.

The digitisation of both public and private services would lead the country to achieve double digit growth in the next few years as the technological advancement is increasing day by day. The young generation can make it more rapid.
