Govt plans to set up a community clinic for each 6,000 rural people:
Maleque

SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 14, 2019 (BSS)-Health and Family Welfare Minister
Zahid Maleque today said the government has undertaken a plan to set up a
community clinic against each 6,000 people for reaching quality healthcare
services at their doorsteps.

“We have undertaken a plan to set up a community clinic against each 6,000
rural people for reaching quality essential healthcare services at door steps
of rural people,” said the minister while responding to a starred question
from a member of opposition bench Peer Fazlur Rahman of Sunamganj-4 in the
Jatiya Sangsad.

He informed the House that the government has set up 13,779 community
clinics during the last 10 years at each union.

Health and Family Welfare Minister said rural people visited community
clinics 76.65 crore times for getting healthcare from 2009 to July 2018
across the country.

Over 3.55 crore emergency and serious patients had been referred by the
community clinics for higher treatment, said Zahid Malek

He said the government provided computers to over 13,000 community clinics
while 24,000 health workers got tablets with internet connection.
