DHAKA, Feb 14, 2019 (BSS) – US Secretary of State Michael R Pompeo has
expressed his hope for building a stronger Dhaka-Washington relation in the
coming days in a congratulatory message to his Bangladesh counterpart Dr AK
Abdul Momen on his appointment as the foreign minister.
He made the remark in a letter to congratulate his Bangladeshi counterpart
Dr AK Abdul Momen on his appointment as the new Bangladesh foreign minister,
a press release said here today.
The Secretary of State also appreciated the generosity of the Bangladesh
government and people for continuing to host and shelter over one million
Rohingyas.
Pompeo also shared Bangladesh’s commitment to the eventual return of the
Rohingyas to their homeland.
The US secretary of state also praised the impressive diplomatic and
academic background, skills and experience of the Foreign Minister.
