Rangpur Customs introduces e-Filing programme

RANGPUR, Feb 13, 2019 (BSS) – After the National Board of Revenue (NBR) headquarters, Rangpur Divisional Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate has introduced e-Filing programme for the first time outside the capital city.

Divisional Commissioner of Customs and Excise and VAT Commissionerate Mohammad Ahsanul Haque formally inaugurated the programme at a function held on Tuesday at its office in the city as the chief guest.

With Additional Commissioner of Divisional Commissioner of Customs and Excise and VAT Abdul Mannan Sarder in the chair, it’s Deputy Commissioner Saiful Haque, other officials and business community leaders attended the function.

Ahsanul Haque said the newly launched e-Filing programme will help the organisation to use and run electronic notices, e-filing and electronic signatures and e-documents quickly maintaining complete transparency and accountability.

“The Divisional Customs, Excise and VAT Commissionerate will now be able to provide services to citizens easily and maintain official correspondence with other departments, institutions and organisations concerned from any place in the country,” he said.

“In addition to this, launching of the e-Fling programme will allow reducing the use of papers and there will be no possibility of losing or missing documents,” he added.

He urged the officials concerned to make best use of digitised e-Filing facilities utilising information and communication technologies in rendering best services to citizens in a hassle-free manner to increasing revenue earning of the government.
