SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 10, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Fisheries and
Livestock M Ashraf Ali Khan Khosru today said the government has distributed
identity card among 14.20 lakh out of 16.20 lakh fishermen across the country.
“Registration and database of 16.20 lakh fishermen have been prepared through
the ‘registration of fisherman and distribution identity card’ project under
the Department of Fisheries (DoF),” he said while responding to a query made
by treasury bench lawmaker Nurunnabi Chowdhury of Bhola-3 in the Jatiya
Sangsad here.
The government so far has allocated and distributed a total of 39,787.84
metric ton rice—monthly 40 kg rice –for four month among the ID card holder
fishermen at 85 upazilas under 17 jatka-enriched districts in 2017-18 fiscal.
Besides, a total of Taka 2,89,70,000 grant money have been distributed among
587 fishermen families who had been killed in cyclone, storm, tidal wave and
other reason from 2012-13 to 2016-17, the state minister added.
