Two die as Bailey bridge collapses with truck in Sunamganj
SYLHET, Feb 7, 2019 (BSS) – Two persons were killed and five others injured when a truck caused a bailey bridge to collapse in Ranabidya area of Bishwambhorpur upazila in Sunamganj today.
The truck, laden with iron rods, fell into a ditch when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the railing of the steel bridge at 12 noon, said Additional Deputy Commissioner Shafiul Alam.
Police and fire services rushed to the spot and recovered the two bodies. Police could not confirm the identity of the victims.
The injured people were admitted to Sunamganj Sadar Hospital.
The police and fire fighters were working to salvage the truck.
