ICT sector to provide jobs for 20 lakh youths in next 5 yrs: Palak

SANGSAD BHABAN, Feb 5, 2019 (BSS) – State Minister for Information Communication and Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak today told the House that the country would be able to provide employment for 20 lakh jobless youths in the next five years under the ICT sector.

“As per the election manifesto, the government is committed to provide jobs for 1.28 crore youths in the next five years ….of its only 20 lakh jobless youths will be provided under the ICT sector,” he said while speaking in the thanksgiving motion on the “President Speech” in the House.

The state minister said the incumbent government, led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is committed to create employment opportunities for 1.28 crore youths during this tenure in line with the election manifesto of the 11th parliament election.

“We have a concrete plan on human development and the present government is working to create such facilities to this end,” he said.

As part of the commitment for creating employment, Palak said the government has also a plan to start building a Sheikh Kamal IT training center at 64 districts in the next five years.

He said as the prime minister is agreed to build a prosperous Bangladesh by exploiting the power of the young generation, the ICT ministry has taken various project including ‘learning-earning’.

Palak also thanked the President for giving a timely speech highlighting the success stories of the government and guiding the nation towards peace, progress and prosperity.

Treasury bench members: Enamul Haque, Hasan Imam Khan, Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman Khan, Anwarul Abedin Khan and Jafor Alam addressed in the thanks-giving motion.
