ARREST-SATKHIRA
55 held in Satkhira
SATKHIRA, Feb 2, 2019 (BSS) – Police, in special drives arrested 55 persons
including three drug traders from eight upazilas of the district in last 12-
hour ending at 8am this morning.
Police also recovered 100 grams of Ganja, 20 pieces of Yaba tablets and
55 bottles of Phensidyl during the drives.
Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different
areas of the district.
During the drives, Satkhira Sadar police arrested 17 persons, Kalaroa Thana
police arrested seven persons including a drug trader along with 55 bottles
of Phensidyl, Tala Thana police arrested five persons, Kaliganj Thana police
arrested five persons, Shyamnagar Thana police arrested six persons including
a drug trader along with 100 grams of Ganja, Assasuni Thana police arrested
eight persons including a drug trader along with 20 pieces of Yaba tablets,
Patkelghata Thana police arrested four persons and Debhata Thana police
arrested three persons.
The arrested people are accused in several cases, including charges of
subversive activities, filed with different police stations in the district.
The arrested were sent to jail.
