Navy chief calls on President

DHAKA, Jan 31, 2019 (BSS) – Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral AMMM Aurangzeb Chowdhury made a courtesy call on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban here this afternoon.

During the call on, the navy chief apprised the President of overall activities of the naval force, president’s press secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS.

President Hamid expressed his satisfaction over the naval force activities and their professional performance in safeguarding the country`s maritime boundary.

Noting that the naval force, at the meantime, turned into a three-dimensional force, the President hoped that the Bangladesh Navy would go ahead with reputation under his leadership.

Terming blue economy a very important sector for country’s economic development, Hamid asked him to remain more alert to collect and preserve marine resources.

The President, also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, assured the navy chief of his continued cooperation in discharging duties as the new naval chief sought directives and cooperation from him.

Secretaries concerned to the President were also present.

Aurangzeb officially took the command of Bangladesh Navy on January 26 last.
