Purnatmananda new principal of Ramkrishna Mission
DHAKA, Jan 29, 2019 (BSS) – Swami Purnatmananda Maharaj has taken the
charge of new principal of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Dhaka.
At the directives of board of trustees and executive committee of Belur
Math, the headquarters of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission,
Purnatmananda took the charge of principal and secretary of the Dhaka Math on
Sunday.
Earlier, he greeted the people of Bangladesh at introductory meeting and
sought cooperation from all in the activities of Ramkrishna Math to serve the
mankind.
In 1974, Purnatmananda passed the MA examination from Calcutta University
in English and joined the Ramkrishna Mission’s Institute of Culture centre in
Calcutta as a Brahmachari. He served as the chief of Publication and Research
Department of the center for 14 years.
From 2012 to January, 2019, he served as the secretary of Swami
Vivekananda’s Ancestral House and Cultural Centre in Calcutta.
He came to Bangladesh for several times as a guest speaker of Ramkrishna
Math and Mission centers. He had a very affectionate relation with former
principal of Dhaka Math late Pujyapada Swami Akkharananda Maharaj.
