PM-SHITAL PATI-GIFT
Nasim gifts shital pati to PM, cabinet colleagues
DHAKA, Jan 22, 2018 (BSS) – Health Minister Mohammad Nasim and State
Minister for Health Zahid Malek today presented shital pati to Prime Minister
Sheikh Hasina and members of her cabinet to celebrate the UNESCO recognition
to the object as Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Humanity.
Before the cabinet meeting today at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the
health minister, state minister and acting secretary of the ministry gave a
shital pati to each member of the cabinet, secretary of the cabinet division
NM Ziaul Alam said while briefing reporters at Bangladesh Secretariat.
UNESCO recognized the traditional art of weaving of shital pati in Sylhet
and included the object in the Unesco’s Representative List of the Intangible
Cultural Heritage (ICH) of Humanity in the 12th session of the
Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the ICH in December last.
