DHAKA, Jan 26, 2019 (BSS) – Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today urged the filmmakers to make patriotic films aiming to build a developed, peaceful and healthy society like “Sonar Bangla”.
“Film-makers should make cinemas which are capable to inspire patriotism among the youths for building a developed, peaceful and healthy society like ‘Sonar Bangla’ dreamt by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said.
Hasan, also the publicity and publication secretary of Awami League, made the call while addressing the inaugural session of opening the second branch of Star Cineplex in city’s Shimanto Square area.
He said the second branch of Cineplex has been launched with beautiful arrangements as the film’s audience did not decreased.
The ceremony was addressed, among others, by Director General of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Major General Md Shafeenul Islam and former Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain with Star Cineplex Managing Director Mahboob Rahman in the chair.
Besides, the minister also attended another inaugural function of a debate competition today at CIRDAP as the chief guest.
Sampreeti, a project of the Manusher Jonno Foundation, organized the competition titled ‘Tarunnyo Rukhbe Ugrabad’ (youths will resist extremism) with Debate for Democracy Chairman Hasan Ahmed Chowdhury Kiran in the chair.
A total of 16 educational institutions took part in the competition.
