DUCSU leaders should work for every student: Tofail

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2019 (BSS) – Bangladesh Awami League (AL) leader Tofail
Ahmed here today said the elected leaders of Dhaka University Central
Students’ Union (DUCSU) should work for every student’s interest despite
being belong to a particular political party.

“DUCSU is going to create national leaders again through the polls
scheduled to be held on March 11”, said Tofail, also a former vice-president
of DUCSU.

He was speaking as the chief guest at a discussion organised by Dhaka
University (DU) unit of Bangladesh Chhatra League marking the 50th
anniversary of mass upsurge of 1969 at Abdul Karim Sahittobisarad Auditorium
of Bangla Academy here.

“Dhaka University is an industry of making national leaders. I felt happy
when I came to know that DUCSU polls is going to be held on March 11….I
think students’ union election should be held at all the universities and
colleges across the country,” said Tofail, a veteran leader of Bangladesh
Awami League.

“All the commands came from students’ leaders during the period of mass
uprising before the independence of the country in 1969”, he added.

Commemorating the history of the country, he urged the BCL leaders and
activists to learn how to sacrifice for the people by reading Asomapto
Attojibni, biography of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman.

“We were always ready to die on those days. We had been successful to make
the country independent and free Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from
jail”.

DU PRO-VC Dr. Mohammad Samad, BCL DU unit President Sanjit Chandra Das and
BCL DU unit general Secretary Saddam Hussain, among others, spoke on the
occasion.
