DHAKA, Jan 23, 2019 (BSS) – Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal today said all public procurements should come under open tender method for ensuring transparency in the procurement process.
“We will encourage the authorities concerned to bring all government procurements in the open tender method as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina does not want to see any irregularities, disparities and errors in any area,” he told journalists after a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) at the Cabinet Division in the city.
Kamal said government procurement is a big area, so it is difficult to determine the correct price. “In order to prevent the losses during procurements, we will try to make all the public procurements through open tender method,” he added.
Members of the committee, senior secretary of the Cabinet Division and senior officials of the division were present at the meeting.
