Outgoing navy chief calls on President

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2019 (BSS) – Outgoing Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Mohammad Nizamuddin Ahmed called on President M Abdul Hamid at Bangabhaban here this afternoon.

“The navy chief apprised the President of the overall development activities of Bangladesh Naval Force,” President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS after the meeting.

He said the navy chief expressed his sincere gratitude to the President for giving necessary directives and extending cooperation during his tenure.

Abdul Hamid, also the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, expressed his satisfaction over the performance of the naval force in safeguarding the country’s maritime boundaries as well as its nation-building activities.

The President lauded his role in turning the naval force into a developed and three-dimensional one during his tenure as the navy chief.

He said the country’s naval force is now more capable of facing any challenges in the defence sector. He hoped that the ongoing development and progress of the naval force would continue in days to come.

Secretaries concerned to the President were also present.
