Clemon cricket tournament begins in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Jan 20, 2019 (BSS) – Clemon T-20 Cricket Tournament began for the
seventh time here today amidst a colourful function.

Rajshahi Cricket Academy organized the tournament at Divisional Women
Sports Complex in Rajshahi City. Deputy Commissioner SM Abdul Kader
accompanied by former captain of National Cricket Team Khaled Masud Pilot
declared the tournament, which was inaugurated before a large number of
cricket fans.

A total of 48 teams from 24 districts including Dhaka, Bogura, Pabna,
Rangpur, Noakhali, Chattagram, Khulna and host Rajshahi are taking part in
the tournament splitting into four groups.

According to the sources concerned, the game will be held in knockout
method in next one month. After the end of the knockout phase, semifinal will
be held with one team from each of the groups. Former players of National
Cricket Team Rafiqul Islam Khan and Alamgir Kabir and Vice-president of
Divisional Sports Association Mahbub Jamal were present on the occasion.

In the today’s opening match, Bangla Track Cricket Academy clinched a nine-
wicket victory over Rajshahi Cricket Training Centre.
