4 killed in road accidents in Naogaon, Tangail

DHAKA, Jan 17, 2019 (BSS) – Four people were killed in three road accidents in Naogaon and Tangail districts today.

Of the deceased, two were identified as Alta Begum, 40, wife of Iman Ali of Chalkgopal village under Manda upazila in Naogaon and Mamun ,35, son of Rafiqul Islam of Rajshahi’s Dhanura village under Tanor upazila.

Begum was killed when a microbus hit a charger-run van from behind on Naogaon-Rajshahi highway near Bagdewan Para Moor area in Manda upazila in the afternoon. Later, she was taken to Manda Health Complex where doctor declared her death.

In another accident, a motorbike rider Mamun was killed when a pickup van hit Mamun’s bike in Nichpara area.

Confirming the deaths, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manda Police Station Mozzaffar Hossain said that two cases were filed.

In another road mishap in Tangail, two passengers were killed and 10 others injured when a Tangail-bound bus named “Parntik Paribahan” fell into a ditch on Tangail-Mymensingh highway near Bangra Union Parishad under Kalihati upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kalihati Police Station confirmed the deaths.
