Bangladesh role model of socio-economic development: speakers

RAJSHAHI, Jan 14, 2018 (BSS) – Speakers at a discussion here yesterday said Bangladesh became a role model of socio-economic development in last nine years under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

They came up with the observation at the closing session of three-day long ‘Development Fair- 2018’ held on Rajshahi Collegiate School playground here.

District administration organised the fair where more than 90 government and development organizations set up stalls showcasing their respective development activities.

Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi division Zakir Hossain and Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi Helal Mahmud Sharif addressed the session as chief and special guests respectively with Parvej Raihan, Deputy Director of Local Government Division, in the chair.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Shalahuddin, Headmaster of Collegiate School Dr Nurjahan Begum and Deputy Director of District Information Office Md Shamsuzzaman also spoke.

Zakir Hossain said digitization of government offices and expansions of Bangladesh’s IT economy were a priority on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s election manifesto in 2009.

He said the present government has taken different development activities to build Bangladesh a middle income country by 2021 and a developed one by 2041

During the fair, a number of seminars and reality shows were also held highlighting the achievements and other development activities of the government.
