Dipu Moni asks educational institutions not to take extra fees

CHANDPUR, Jan 11, 2019 (BSS) – Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni today
asked the authorities of educational institutions not to charge additional
fees in admission of students, warning that stern action would be taken if
they take extra fees from students.

“Tougher action will be taken if anyone is found charging extra fees to
students…taking additional fees during admission and other examinations are
totally illegal,” she said while exchanging views with local journalists at
sadar upazila here.

Earlier, Dipu Moni exchanged greetings with the common people of
different unions of her electoral constituency.

She hoped that the educational institutions would follow the rules during
admission of students and other examinations.

Dipu Moni, also joint general secretary of Awami League, said a massive
development has taken place in the country’s education sector during last 10
years.

Besides, she said, the government will take every necessary step to improve
the sector.

The education minister sought cooperation from all in this regard.

AL district unit president and municipality mayor Nasir Uddin Ahmed, its
general secretary Abu Noeem Patwari Dulal, and AL Sadar upazila president
Nurul Islam Nazim and its general secretary Ali Arshad Miazi were, among
others, present.
