Bangabandhu’s Homecoming Day observed in Seoul

DHAKA, Jan 10, 2019 (BSS) – The Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was observed with due fervor and solemnity at the Bangladesh Embassy in the Republic of Korea.

Messages from the President and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh were read before a discussion held on the significance of the day. All officials of the embassy and members of the Bangladeshi community were present during the discussion, said a press release here today.

The speakers paid respect to three million martyrs, 200,000 women who were violated in the War of Liberation and valiant freedom fighters.

They said that the victory of Bangladesh on December 16 in 1971, after 9 months long bloody War of Liberation, people were eagerly waiting for the arrival of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in an independent and sovereign Bangladesh.

Ambassador Abida Islam paid rich tribute to the memory of Bangabandhu and said that after assuming the office of the prime minister the very next day upon his return, he devoted himself for the reconstruction of the war ravaged country.

A special prayer was held seeking peace of his departed soul and also progress and prosperity of the country as well as for the nation.
