Development fair being held in Gaibandha
GAIBANDHA, JAN 12, 2018 (BSS) – A 3-day long development fair-2018 is being
held at district and upazila headquarters here as elsewhere in the country
from yesterday with the theme of “Role Model of Development, Sheikh Hasina’s
Bangladesh.
The main objective of the fair is to focus the development activities of
the government to build Bangladesh a middle income country by 2021 and a
developed one by 2041.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally inaugurated the fair through video
conferencing at a function held at Ganabhaban, Dhaka on Thursday.
District administration is organizing the fair on Independence Square of
the town here in a befitting manner. The three day programmes include reality
show, quiz and debate competition, cultural function and prize distribution
among the winners.
Talking to the BSS, deputy commissioner (DC) Gautam Chandra Pal said a
total of 70 stalls of government and non government departments were set up
in the fair.
Similar fairs are also being held at upazila headquarters of the district
at the management of the respective upazila administrations, the DC added.
