Govt has a plan to set up a flower research center at Jessore
SANGSAD BHABAN, Jan 9, 2018 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Begum Matia
Chowdhury today said the government has a plan to establish a regional flower
research centre at Jessore.
The minister said this while responding to a query placed by treasury bench
lawmaker M Manirul Islam of Jessore-2 at the Jatiya Sangsad here.
A development project for setting up a flower research centre is now under
approval process, said the minister, adding that work for the establishment of
the research center will begin after approval of the project.
Around 90 per cent of the total flower marketing in the capital come from
Jessore region.
