DHAKA, Jan 3, 2019 (BSS) – Prime Minister of Pacific island state of Fiji
JV Bainimarama today congratulated Bangladesh counterpart Sheikh Hasina for
her party’s landslide victory in the 11th parliamentary elections which is
expected to install her as the country’s premier for the third consecutive
term.
In a congratulatory message, Bainimarama said: “The impressive victory of
the Awami League with 288 seats of 300-member parliament is testament of the
confidence of the people of Bangladesh in your leadership and ability in
progressing your country’s economy”.
He said Fiji and Bangladesh share formal diplomatic ties since 2003,
building up cooperation in the areas of trade and economic activities.
The Fijian Prime Minister said he is looking forward to strengthen the
friendship and advance bilateral cooperation between the two counties.
Bainimarama wished all the success of the Bangladesh government in next
tenure under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
