Malek Ukil’s wife Sabura Malek passes away, PM visits her residence

DHAKA, Jan 1, 2019 (BSS) – Sabura Malek; wife of late Abdul Malek Ukil,
former president of Bangladesh Awami League and former Jatiya Sangsad
Speaker; died at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital
here today at the age of 88.

Sabura Malek, who had been suffering from various old-age ailments for a
long time, left behind her two sons and five daughters as well as a host of
relatives and admirers to mourn her death.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited her Banani residence tonight to console
the family members of the deceased.

She stayed there for some time and talked to the family members of Sabura
Malek.

Sheikh Hasina consoled them and prayed for eternal peace of the departed
soul.

Earlier, in a condolence message, the premier expressed deep shock at the
death of Sabura Malek.

In a separate condolence message, Awami League General Secretary and Road
Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader also mourned the death of
Sabura Malek.
