AL wins historic victory for Sheikh Hasina’s popularity: Rahman

DHAKA, Dec 31, 2018 (BSS) – Joint Secretary of Awami League (AL) Abdur
Rahman today said Awami League (AL) won historic victory in the 11th
parliamentary polls for Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s huge popularity.

“The people of the country cast their votes in the national election for
continuing the ongoing development trend of the country,” he told at a press
conference of AL at the party president’s office at Dhanmondi here.

Joint Secretary of AL Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Organizing Secretaries BM
Mozammel Haque, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Forest and Environment Affairs Secretary
Delwar Hossain, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary Engineer Abdus
Sabur, among others, were present at the press conference.

Rahman said, “The people of the country have rejected BNP-Jamaat clique as
they patronized communal forces. But the people have broken their poisonous
teeth through giving their verdict in the 11th parliamentary election.” He
said Awami League would not bring out any victory procession or rally on the
occasion of its landslide victory in the 11th parliamentary polls.

But special prayers would be offered at religious institutions.

About refusal of polls result of Jatiya Oikyafront top leader Dr Kamal
Hossain and BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Rahman said
they have virtually refused continuous development and democracy of the
country.

The people would give befitting answer, if they (BNP-Jamaat) try to create
unstable situation over the election result, he added.

Rahman greeted the countrymen for making Awami League victorious in the
general election. He also expressed gratitude to the Election Commission,
Bangladesh Army, law enforcement agencies and other concerned organizations
for holding a free, fair and neutral election.
