Selim, Rimi elected from Gopalganj-2, Gazipur-4 seats respectively

DHAKA, Dec 30, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League (AL) candidates Sheikh Fazlul
Karim Selim and Simeen Hussain Rimi have been elected unofficially with a
huge margin from Gopalganj-2 and Gazipur-4 constituencies in the 11th
parliamentary elections held today.

Election Commission (EC) Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed announced the
unofficial results of all 147 polling centers of Gopalganj-2 and all 119
polling centers of Gazipur-4 constituencies this evening.

He said Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, the AL candidate bagged 281,909 votes
with “Boat” symbol while his nearest rival Ishlami Andalon Bangladesh
candidate Toslim Sikder secured only 608 votes with “Hand Fan” symbol.

Besides, AL candidate Simeen Hussain Rimi got 203,258 votes with “Boat”
symbol while her nearest rival BNP candidate Shah Riazul Hannan secured
18,582 votes with “Sheaf of paddy” symbol, the EC Secretary added.
