AL leads in 122 seats, BNP in 2, JP in 1

DHAKA, Dec 30, 2018 (BSS)-Bangladesh Awami League (AL) visibly leads in
most of 300 parliamentary constituencies as the counting of vote of the 11th
parliament election is underway, according to the unofficial results.

Awami League candidates are leading in 122 seats, BNP contenders were
leading in two constituencies and Jatiya Party, a component of AL-led grand
alliance, in one seat.

AL president and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been elected unofficially
from Gopalganj-3 constituency as she polled 2,29, 539 votes against her rival
BNP candidate SM Zilani who got 123 votes, said Election Commission secretary
Helal Uddin Ahmed.

BNP’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir won in his northeastern
Bogura constituency with a huge margin.

Voting of the 11th Jatiya Sangsad Election ended peacefully at 4pm as
people cast their vote amid festivity.
