KUSHTIA, Jan 7, 2108 (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid yesterday called upon the representatives of local government, professionals and government officials to gain public trust by providing proper services to the mass people.
“Everybody’s prime aim should be to serve the people”, the President told a view-exchange meeting at Kushtia Circuit House here last night.
Noting that Bangladesh faces different problems at all strata of social life, President Hamid said all problems can be solved through creating mass awareness.
He advised the local elected representatives to enhance the communication with common people to resolve various problems, including the child marriage.
Abdul Hamid stressed the need for taking pragmatic steps locally by proper utilizing the development potentials to ensure development in respective areas.
Terming the country’s hard-earned independence as the highest and valuable achievement of the Bengali nation, the President urged all progressive and pro-liberation forces to unite to make the independence a meaningful one.
Local elected representatives, professionals, journalist leaders, government officials and secretaries concerned to the President, among others, attended the view-exchange meeting.
Earlier, President Hamid arrived here on a two-day visit yesterday afternoon.
He will address the fourth convocation of the Islamic University, Bangladesh (IUB) today noon.
