Fire at Zaman Tower under control
DHAKA, Dec 28, 2018 (BSS)- The devastating fire that broke out at the Pritam-Zaman tower in the city’s Purana Paltan area was brought under control after two and a half hours.
Duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence central control unit Md Russell Shikder told BSS that fire broke out on the building’s 8th floor around 2.45 pm.
Being informed, 14 units of the fire service rushed to the scene and took the fire under control at 5.30pm, he said.
Shikdar said 12 persons, who were trapped on the rooftop of the building during the fire, were rescued unhurt.
He said investigation is underway to find the reasons and evaluate the extent of damage in the fire.
