Quader hopes ‘vote revolution’ against corruption

FENI, Dec 28, 2018 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary and Road
Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today expressed his optimism
that the national election will turn into a “vote revolution” against
corruption, terrorism and communalism.

“The country’s people will not cast their votes in favour of those who
want to give intuitional shape to terrorism and corruption. The upcoming
election will be a vote revolution against corrupt people and communal
forces,” he told reporters while visiting road repair works of Feni-Noakhali
regional highway under Daganbhuiyan upazila in Feni.

Quader hoped that the 11th parliamentary election will be held in a free,
fair, neutral and peaceful manner.

“There is a mass-upsurge for ‘boat’ across the country. Majority of the
country’s people (voters) will cast their votes in favour of boat,” he said.

The AL general secretary said if anyone wants to create anarchy in the
name of guarding polling centres, the attempts will be dealt with iron hand.

He asked the party leaders and workers not to be locked in any quarrel
as people will decide who will win in the election to form the government.

Later in the afternoon, the minister visited a bridge constructed over
Feni River on Noakhali-Joarganj highway, BSS Noakhali correspondent reports.

Talking to reporters, he said BNP-Jamaat and Oikyafront’s conspiracy to
foil the election will not come true as the people want to exercise their
voting rights in a festive election.

“When the people are determined to exercise their voting rights, I do not
believe that any strength could foil the polls,” he said.

Noakhali district AL vice-president Md Sahab Uddin, Companyganj upazila
AL President Khijir Hayat, Basurhat municipality mayor Abdul Quader Mirza and
Companyganj upazila parishad chairman Mizanur Rahman Badal were, among
others, present.
