Family Planning Service Week ends
NARSINGDI Jan 5, 2018 (BSS) – The Family Planning Service Week, organized
by District Family Planning Office, concluded here at 55 Union Health and
family Planning Welfare Centre (FWC) in the district yesterday.
During the week, a total of 11,216 eligible couple received family planning
services. Of them, 29 received Permanent Methods (Vasectomy), 314 received
permanent methods (tubectomy), 824 Intra Uterine devices (IUD), 671 Implant
services, 3,155 Injections, 4,124 oral Pills, 1,939 Condoms, 160
Institutional deliveries.
Beside 4,260 adolescents and 12,127 general patients received family
planning services in the week.
On the fifth day of the week, Director General at Directorate of family
planning (Additional Secretary) Kazi Mostofa Sorwar visited Shilmandi Union
Health and Family Welfare Centre (FWC) under Narsingdi Sadar Upazila.
He also visited the Maternal and Child Welfare Center (MCWC) at Sadar
Hospital Complex.
The Director General expressed his satisfaction over the Family Planning
activities in the district.
He said the government has achieved laudable success in health and family
planning sector.
He asked the officials concerned particularly the field level employees of
the department to be more careful and professional in performing their
respective duties to attain the cherished goal.
