SC accepts gazette on lower court judges’ service rules
DHAKA, Jan 3, 2018 (BSS) – The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court (SC)
today accepted gazette on lower court judges’ service rules and conduct
issued by the government on December 11 last year.
A five-member apex court bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Md Abdul
Wahhab Miah accepted the gazette, saying, “The Appellate Division accepted
the service rules and conduct, which maintained the supremacy of the Supreme
Court, for lower court judges.”
Later Attorney General Mahbubey Alam in a press briefing at his office told
newsmen about the move of the apex court.
“The Appellate Division has accepted the gazette and it has become
effective through this. The gazette has called for taking decision on inquiry
and investigation as per advice of the Supreme Court,” Alam said.
