PANCHAGARH, Dec 18, 2018 (BSS) – Around 5,000 hectares of land have been brought under potato cultivation in the current Rabi season in the district.
The farmers are passing their busy time for nurturing potato field. Farmers started harvesting early variety potato and selling in the market.
Farmers are getting fair price from selling by potato. Per bag 80-kg potato are being sold at Taka 1800 to 2000 in local markets.
Traders came here from different districts and purchases potato and sent to Dhaka and others districts.
DAE of Panchagarh told BSS that this year the farmers are getting handsome profit from selling potato as the weather condition are favorable for potato cultivation.
The DAE has given necessary advice for cultivation to the farmers from protect late blight disease.
