DU celebrates 48th Victory Day amid festivity

DHAKA, Dec 15, 2018 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU) authority today celebrated the 48th victory day in a befitting manner.

It celebrated the day through a series of programmes. The programes includes hoisting of national flag, placing wreath at the national Mausoleum at Savar, film and documentary exhibition, photo, exhibition, discussions, blood donation programme and cultural programmes.

University teachers, students, officers and employees paid tribute to the Liberation War martyrs at the National Mausoleum at Savar in the morning.

Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) organised a photo exhibition titled “Ekti Manchitrer Jonmo” (Birth of a Map), at Teacher -Student Center (TSC). DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the exhibition.

Besides, a musical programme was held at central playground organised by the university authority and Chhayanaut Cultural Center.

Various infrastructures including TSC, Arts building, Karzon hall were illuminated on the occasion.

Special prayers were offered at the Central Mosque of the university along with other mosques and places of worship, seeking eternal peace of the souls of the martyred of Liberation War and peace, progress and prosperity of the country.
