DU set to celebrate 48th Victory Day
DHAKA, Dec 15, 2018 (BSS) – The Dhaka University (DU) authority will
celebrate the 48th victory day tomorrow in a befitting manner.
A series of programmes have been taken to observe the day, said a press
release today.
The programmes include – hoisting of national flag, placing wreath at the
National Mausoleum at Savar, film and documentary exhibition, photo
exhibition, discussions, blood donation programme and cultural programmes.
The National flag will be hoisted on the main buildings of the university
at around 6:15 am.
University teachers, students, officers and employees will gather on the
premises of Aparajeya Bangla to pay tribute to Liberation War martyrs at the
National Mausoleum at Savar in the morning.
Dhaka University Journalists’ Association (DUJA) will organise a photo
exhibition titled “Ekti Manchitrer Jonmo” (Birth of a Map), at Teacher –
Student Center (TSC) on the campus. DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Akhtaruzzaman
will inaugurate the exhibition.
Besides, a musical programme will be held at central playground on the
campus at 4 pm organised by the university authority and Chhayanaut Cultural
Center while another cultural programme on Victory day will be held at TSC at
6:30 pm.
Various infrastructures including TSC, Arts building, Karzon hall were
illuminated on the occasion.
Special prayers will be offered at the Central Mosque of the university
along with other mosques and other places of worship, seeking eternal peace
of the souls of the martyrs of Liberation War and peace, progress and
prosperity of the country.
