DHAKA, Dec 14, 2018 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep
shock and sorrow at the death of eminent film director Amjad Hossain.
In a condolence message, the premier recalled Amjad Hossain’s outstanding
contributions to the country’s film industry, saying that his death is an
irreparable loss to the industry.
“He will be remembered forever among the people for his works,” she said.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed
profound sympathy to the bereaved family members.
Amjad Hossain breathed his last at the Bumrungrad Hospital in the Thai
capital of Bangkok at 2.57 pm today (Bangladesh time), Sajjad Hossain Dodul,
eldest son of the deceased, told BSS.
He suffered a stroke at his residence in the capital on November 18 and was
shifted to Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok for better treatment.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took the responsibility for the treatment of
Amjad Hossain.
She donated Taka 42.35 lakh to Amjad Hossain for his treatment abroad.
